Some Questions & Answers

Q . Are you able to offer your courses to International students?

A. Yes, we're delighted to confirm that we are able to provide this facility - please contact us for further details

Q. Are your courses Nationally recognised?

A. Yes, all the courses we provide are recognised nationally by schools and Local Education Authorities and our Awarding Body, OCR, is probably the most respected Awarding Body in the UK educational sector.

Q. What areas of the UK do you cover?

A. At the present time we cover the whole of the West Midlands, Shropshire, Derbyshire, Warwickshire and Staffordshire but if you live/work outside these areas then please give us a call to see how we can help you.

Q. Are there any entry requirements for Studio 206 courses?

A. There are no formal entry requirements for Studio 206 courses. However, you will need to have sufficient language, numeracy and literacy skills to be able to achieve the qualification you have chosen. Studio 206 will be able to help if you need to improve these.

If you choose to take one of the Certificate or Diploma courses, you will have to demonstrate to Studio 206 that you are able to meet the requirements of these qualifications in your work in Schools, so you will need to be working in a School either employed or in a voluntary capacity - either full-time or part-time. For the Award qualification you do not have to be employed or have a placement in a School.

Your School and Studio 206 will be able to help you decide the size and level of qualification suitable for your role.

Q. When can I start my course?

A. You can start whenever you choose. All you have to do is let us know when you want to start and we'll then arrange for you to meet your Assessor so that you can get started. THERE ARE NO FIXED START DATES, so you don't have to wait 'till September to start!

Q. How will my course be delivered?

A. Most of our candidates prefer to work on a one-to-one basis with their Assessor.

Q. Do you provide course materials?

A. Yes, when you first meet with your Assessor you will be given your course folder containing the course Standards and Units together with C.D's covering all the document templates, guidance notes, tasks and examples.

Q. What support will I receive from Studio 206?

A. You will be given continuing support throughout your course. You will be able to contact your Assessor by phone or e-mail - and of course you will have face-to-face meetings with your Assessor. So, if you want some guidance, information or want to meet with your Assessor, all you have to do is just let us know!

Q. How long will it take to complete my qualification?

A. It will simply depend on the amount of time you can set aside for your course-work and how quickly you want to complete your course it will be your decision! BUT, you must complete your course within 12 months of your start date (the completion deadline for the HLTA Programme is 12 weeks from start date).

Should you want to accelerate your learning we will do whatever we can to support your aim. As a guide, the majority of our Candidates complete their course within six to eight months

Q. Will I need a CRB check?

A. The CRB check has now been replaced by the DBS check (Disclosure & Barring Service)

Yes, you will need an Enhanced DBS check (current fee £44). The individual being checked is responsible for the cost, however schools/employers often offer to pay the CRB fee on behalf of the applicant.

More detailed information is available on the Disclosure & Barring Service website

Q. How much do the courses cost?

A. The costs vary depending on the level of the qualification but our course fees are fully inclusive and are very competitive. Please see our 'Course' page for details.

Q. Do you accept stage payments?

A. Yes, we prefer this method. We ask for a deposit of 20% of the total course fee and the balance will be invoiced to you at five, equal, monthly intervals. However, once you have been registered with us, this deposit will be non-refundable.
